Books Read

I have just finished reading this book and loved it. It is really 2 stories in 1. Lily was given a book about Mary Kingsley when she was in her teens and became fascinated with Mary's Life. It is a wonderful book and despite it being over 600 pages you never tired of the story....in fact I was sorry to finish it and felt I wanted to know more about Lily.

Mary Kingsley was a real person who explored Africa in the 1890's. The book is also an insight into Mary's life and what an amazing woman she was. So if you want a good book to read I thoroughly recommend it.

TV shows I watch

New Tricks - this is one of my all time favourite TV shows.
Jane Eyre - This starts tonight in Aust 25/11/07. I am looking forward to this as it was one of my favourite stories when I was a teen.

Movies I like

I watched this movie last night. It moved me greatly. I cried for the slaughter of innocent people, the loss of life was tragic but what was more tragic is that we as a western country did nothing to stop the genicide. Have we become so selfish and smug in our homes and wealth that we no longer care. As the journalist said in the movie "We will watch the footage on TV and say what a tragedy and then get on with eating our meal". I am really saddened by what we have become as a society.
